Taft Museum - Edward Curtis photographs

First of all, the Taft house is beautiful. 

About the exhibit, this show was amazing. The Native American culture is my favorite to study. I've read a lot but to see these real pictures from the early 1900s was enlightening. My favorite picture was of Red Cloud. Edward Curtis, the photographer, said that Red Cloud would not answer any of the questions he asked. Chief Red Cloud was quoted at an old age saying, 
"They made us many promises, more than I can remember. But they kept but one--They promised to take our land...and they took it."

Curtis' photo of Red Cloud is just as sad as that quote.
